Driven by a desire for a deeper study of God's Word, our founder, Carla Alexander, envisioned a virtual Bible study. Sharing this vision with her close friends, Ciethea Gaunty and Monique Dailey, she invited her cousin, Aloa Harris, to join as the Bible teacher. On September 3, 2014, our small group of four came together via Skype and launched our study of the Gospel of Luke, followed by the book of Acts.
Our ministry flourished as women from across the country joined our weekly studies. As we approached our fifth anniversary, it became clear that God was leading us to establish this ministry more formally. After much prayer, Aloa presented the group with the name for our ministry: Impact Virtual Bible Study. She also suggested our theme verse, Hebrews 4:12, "For whatever God says is full of living power." This verse reflects our mission to reveal the living power of God's Word in order to equip believers to impact the world through God's living power. With this vision in mind, we became a non-profit ministry.
Since our inception, we have joyfully celebrated many milestones, including:
In 2025, our joy in serving God was overshadowed by deep sorrow following the passing of our dear founder, Carla. In light of this immense loss, we made a solemn commitment to continue the work of the ministry. By doing so, we honor Carla's legacy, and most importantly, ensure that God continues to be glorified. We remain dedicated to our mission of providing live and engaging Bible Study experiences that unveil the living power of God's Word.

We believe that the Bible (Scripture) is the inspired word of God, written by human authors under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Although written by men, the Bible is true in its entirety because God is the source of every word. Therefore, the original writings are inerrant, meaning what is stated is authentic, reliable, true and trustworthy. Scripture is also authoritative, so it is to be obeyed because it is the divine word of God, whose authority is sovereign over all creation. Scripture is sufficient in that it provides all that is needed for salvation and godly living. Since God is the source, the canon of Scripture is complete, as He has preserved His inspired, Holy Word.
